Evangelos Kalampokis is a postdoctoral research fellow with the Information Technologies Institute of the Centre for Research & Technology - Hellas (CERTH-ITI) in Thessaloniki, Greece and the Information Systems Lab of the University of Macedonia, Greece. He holds a Diploma (MEng) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, an MSc in Business Administration-MBA from the University of Macedonia, Greece and a Ph.D. (thesis title: "Linked Open Government Data Analytics") from the same University. His main research interests include Linked Data, Data Analytics, Semantic Statistics, and Open Government.
During the last eight years, he has initiated and worked in several European Union funded research projects (e.g. H2020 OpenGovIntelligence, FP7 OpenCube, FP7 Linked2Media, and FP7 Linked2Safety). Between October 2010 and November 2011 he has been a research intern at the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI), the largest Semantic Web Research centre worldwide.
Since 2013 he teaches Semantic Data Analytics and Information Systems at the Business Administration department of the University of Macedonia, Greece. Evangelos Kalampokis has published in high impact journals including IEEE Intelligent Systems (2015 IF: 3.532), Internet Research (2015 IF: 3.017) and the Journal of Biomedical Informatics (2015 IF: 2.447). In 2015 and 2016 he co-organised the International Workshop on Semantic Statistics (SemStats), which is conducted in conjunction with the International Semantic Web Conference.
